The opening of our new church centre


We made it! Our new Church Centre was formally opened on the 16th of June 2001, when the keys were handed over (in the rain!) by the contractors to the Church stewards, and various members of the congregation cut the tape to open different parts of the premises. There was a short act of worship in the upper hall, followed by some very deserved offers of thanks, and then the many people who turned out despite the torrential rain were able to explore the building for themselves whilst enjoying a splendid buffet.

   

All those who came seemed to share the excitement of the occasion, as the many months and years of planning and hard work had come to fruition. We really do now have a set of premises that are accessible to all, that are flexible, that are welcoming and that enhance the image of the Church in the local community.
