Exciting
times for the community around Chapel Field Road
Chapel Field Road Methodist Church overlooks
the site of the former Nestle chocolate factory, which sadly produced
it's last chocolate several years ago now. The factory, which was once
a centre of activity 24 hours a day, has been empty ever since until
work began in October 2002 to redevelop the whole site to make way for
a large new retail development. The first stage was to demolish the
Nestle factory, and the photo below was taken a couple of weeks after
work began, with already a clear view from our church through to St
Peter Mancroft and the awarding winning Forum centre. These are exciting
times and we embrace the rejuvenation of the area around our church
and look forward to reaching out and welcoming the community through
our doors.
